Sharing Session on Children protection in collaboration with Hong Kong Family Welfare Society and Zonta Club of Victoria
Our firm’s partners, 葉永青 and 梁安澄, along with consultant 胡安芝, had the honour of being invited by the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society and Zonta Club of Victoria to discuss how Hong Kong family law addresses the issue of child abuse, encompassing both psychological and physical abuse within divorced families. During their presentation, they highlighted significant developments in Hong Kong and appropriate legal measures to protect children who may experience abuse during divorce.
Child abuse issues are more prevalent than commonly believed, and child victims often suffer in silence. This is because they are unaware of how to handle such situations, and witnesses lack the ability to promptly and effectively identify and address the problem. Engaging in conversations with social workers and similar professionals is of great significance as we embark on a journey to provide realistic protections for children’s rights and gain insights on child protection from different stakeholders, enabling us to provide practical advice to our clients.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the members of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society and Zonta Club for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to contribute to this important discussion.
