Donald joined Ip & Heathfield as a Trainee Solicitor in 2024.
Donald obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Durham University in the United Kingdom. He further acquired a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws and a Master of Laws degree in Chinese Law from the University of Hong Kong.
Donald’s passion for family law stems from its dynamic nature and the opportunity to deal with the intricacies of human relationships. His strong interest in this area led him to complete a postgraduate research project analysing the use of mediation in Hong Kong family proceedings. Donald also explored the interactions between the concept of family and Chinese law and society in another research project.
Aside from his studies, Donald was committed to participating in the broader academic community. He engaged in various extracurricular activities, including forums, debate competitions, volunteering, and community service, and served as the Project Director of the Durham University Pro Bono Society. He also completed several internships at law firms and mini pupillages at chambers in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
